"Instantaneous connections, rich experiences ...

There is so much to do and experience at the BHUTAN SPIRIT Sanctuary! One day I just fully relax and enjoy the wellness by receiving a traditional massage and taking in the breathtaking views from my terrace. Another day I get active and explore the Sanctuary surroundings, hiking to one of the nearby monasteries where I talked to the head lama and learned more about Buddhism. Later that evening a Bhutanese writer read some excerpts from her book and then joined us for a family style Bhutanese dinner at the large family table in the restaurant, together with some of the other guests. I experience a connectedness which I am unable to put in words

I wish I would have been able to stay longer and engaged in some of the other activities they offered, like the pottery or cooking classes, or playing archery and Bhutanese darts (khuru). I really do not want to leave my newfound home.”

“I heard that they positioned the beds in such a way that the feet of guests do not point at our monastery on the other side of the valley; it is a good thing that our traditions are respected.”

- Sonam, monk at Eutok Samdrumpcholing goenpa

“My inspiration for the Sanctuary came from the amazing book The Restful Mind of His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa. I then realized I needed to create a special place for myself and others as a way to find a new approach to living daily life.”

- Louk Lennaerts, Founder
